The Outsiders Content Residency | August 2025

Set against the alpine backdrops of Wānaka, Aotearoa (New Zealand), The Outsiders Content Residency is a month-long creative immersion for filmmakers, photographers, athletes, and brands to come together and create content anchored in story, place, and play.

Presented by The Outsiders, this residency blends high-impact commercial shoots, cultural connection, and a talent development program - all in one unforgettable location.

What’s Happening

From August 1–31, 2025, our crew of athletes, adventure filmmakers, and outdoor brands will gather at the Lake Hawea View alpine property in New Zealand’s South Island - for four weeks of filming, collaboration, and play.

Expect:

• Brand-driven content shoots across snow and backcountry terrain

• Private heli-access only events for a sunset session with the crew at SnowMoto at The Farm private land (guests will be provided heli transfers in and out of the social event)

• Creative projects with world-class cinematographers and photographers

• Cultural storytelling sessions that honour place and people

• A talent development program for emerging creatives

Talent Development Program

This residency also marks the launch of the Elevation Fund - a long-term commitment from The Outsiders to reinvest 1% of annual revenue into supporting emerging creatives.

Through this fund, we’re facilitating a Talent Development Weekend at the residency where participants will receive real-world briefs for a content competition:

• $3,000 NZD cash grant to the top creative team

• Mentorship from industry leaders

• Extended support across FY25/26
