Global multi-residency partnerships across snow/ski & run/MTB/HIKE
The Outsiders partners with category-leading brands to deliver multi-week content residencies across the world’s most inspiring outdoor destinations — bringing together elite athletes, world class filmmakers, photographers, music, and storytellers.
Our new annual partnership model is designed for a small group of aligned brands to be embedded across all Outsiders residencies — spanning Snow / Ski and Run / MTB / Hike categories — with consistent visibility and content across multiple markets and categories across the year. Ultimately we are wishing to have multi-year ongoing partnerships to further deepen the outcomes.
Our pilot residency included Defender, Nikon, DB Journey, Helly Hansen, and more. “WOW - the content is awesome!” global brand that we nailed the brand guidelines on, delivering above and beyond expectations. This brand, one of multiple, has now come onboard, ongoing across markets.
THE RESIDENCY MODEL
Each Outsiders residency runs for two weeks and is designed to create authentic moments out in the field — opposed to staged campaigns.
Across each project:
Athletes, creators and our film crew are on location capturing content organically as epic adventure unfolds in real time.
Each residency delivers 1–3M+ combined collective following, with daily posting occurs across athlete, creator, partner and Outsiders channels throughout the two-week block, driving significant momentum and organic reach, shares, engagement, and saves over the project arc. This model has been designed for current platform algorithms, where distribution is no longer follower-led, but driven by content performance and engagement.
Still and motion asset selects are provided after each residency from the organic content capture for global use on partner social channels. Additional licensing available separately.
Residencies will also now feature live stream DJ sets in wild locations that are cinematically filmed for YouTube evergreen video — creating additional cultural reach beyond sport and outdoor alone.

FY 26/27 RESIDENCY CALENDAR
8 residencies across key markets, covering opposite seasons. If you are into snow sports, you are generally into RUN/MTB/HIKE in the off season. This audience tends to visit the locations we are holding the residencies. It is all deeply connected and considered.

PARTNER INCLUSION (ANNUAL)
Partners receive inclusion across all 8 residencies across the year, including:
Brand integration across Snow / Ski + Run / MTB / Hike categories
Daily social tagging and organic inclusion across a 1–3M+ combined following per residency
Organic stills and video selects from each residency for social use
Outsiders manage all project delivery, including talent, logistics, budgets, contracts, and on-ground operations. Athletes will be paid to participate. Partnerships are structured as an annual commitment that covers all project costs and management fees across the calendar — with no hidden costs.
Inclusion in The Elevation Fund - The Outsiders’ long-term commitment to reinvesting in athlete and creative development across the regions and places we visit with the residencies.
We work with a small number of non-competing partners across automotive, connectivity provider, headphones, airline, luggage and camera brand. Transparency and approval of brand alignment will be provided to ensure meaningful integration and cultural alignment.
NOTE: We are not exploring energy drink brands or apparel so that athletes coming to the residencies won’t have any sponsor conflicts with our partners.
ABOUT THE OUTSIDERS
The Outsiders is led by Michelle Bates (Founder & Executive Producer, AUS/NZ LinkedIn) and creative lead Justin Mayers (Director, Westbank Media, US). We work with some of the best industry talent across snow, alpine, ocean, remote wilderness, and action sport. We’re a creative crew built from — and for — the mountains, trails, lakes, and oceans.
