wānaka, new zealand (august 2026)
Our 2026 SNOW Content Residency brought together athletes, photographers, filmmakers and creative crew in Wānaka, Aotearoa New Zealand for a week of skiing, snowboarding, adventure and storytelling.
Working closely with our key automotive partner Defender, we took to the road and the mountains across Wānaka and the wider Central Otago region, capturing the people, places and adventures around us.
The residency included an interview with current Freeride World Tour Champion Ben Richards as part of our new Outsiders Drive Series, which will feature in each Content Residency in collaboration with our automotive partner.
Wānaka's Nuke Squad caught us up on their season at Treble Cone with an edit for the residency. Australian snowboarder Michaela Davis-Meehan also got involved and featured in the residency with our new partner ROAMLESS eSIM.
Freeride skier Hannah Wilson shared a snowmoto throwback with Helly Hansen, and we experienced the new Cardrona Secret Sauna, offering an epic view across the mountains.
We also hosted a Outsiders Talent Development workshop at Crosshill Lodge in Lake Hawea, bringing photographers and creatives together for a day of learning and connection. Huge thanks to Nikon, Film Otago and Film Queenstown Lakes for helping make the workshop happen.
